SMART BLIND STICK

Blind people face several daily challenges such as navigation, accessing reading material, arranging clothes, and maintaining independence. Among these, navigation is the biggest challenge, especially for individuals with complete vision loss. Blind persons often depend on others to move from one place to another and cannot easily detect obstacles. Even within their own homes, they may forget routes between rooms or lose sense of direction. Our project focuses on solving this critical issue through a Smart Stick for the Blind. The stick is equipped with sensors and a camera to detect obstacles and guide movement. It processes indoor visuals to calculate routes within the house. Voice commands such as move left, right, forward, or backward assist the user. Unlike existing solutions, this system provides indoor navigation, enabling blind users to move independently to places like bedrooms, kitchens, and washrooms.
