It gives us an immense pleasure to announce that CENTIN and Information Systems Department joined hands and successfully held the first ever TEDx event at UMT on last Saturday, 22nd April 2017.

TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDxUMT brought together a remarkable line-up of speakers and performers from different line of fields. Inspiration to the community, these individuals have done remarkable work in their respective field. These inspirational individuals shared their stories of struggle and hard work which gained them an edge in the community. Please visit www.tedxumt.com for further information about the speakers and updates about the event.

We had very good response from inside and outside UMT and Alhamdulillah, are getting very positive feedback from all attendees.  On behalf of CENTIN and IS Club we would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Rector, Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad, and Dean SBE, Bob Wheeler for giving us this opportunity. The student team showed their endless support by working day and night to make this event as amazing as it could get. We hope this sets a tradition and hope to have an even better TEDxUMT in the future.
