CENTIN incubate Ms. Kiran Zafar start-up “From Banana to Paper” who secured 2nd Position (Category-C: Art & Humanity, Business and Social Sciences) and a Prize Money of Rs. 50,000/- in the biggest entrepreneurial event in Pakistan “DICE Invent 2016” organized by NUST, Islamabad on 21-22nd December, 2016. DICE-INVENT differs from other business competitions as it focuses on prototypes and venture creation and not the business plan only.
DICE Foundation, is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, registered in Michigan, USA. DICE Foundation in collaboration with its domestic and international partners, is pursuing a DICE Program in Pakistan, to foster culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the country and transform Pakistan into an innovation-driven economy. The partners of DICE Program in Pakistan are: PCST, British Council, ISESCO, FPCCI, British Council, NUST , NEDUET , COMSATS, IST, UET-KPK, UET-Taxila, UOG, IBA Karachi, UAF, LUMS, DUHS, NTU, Sukkur IBA SMEDA, PSF, ICT R&D Fund. There were four categories of Innovation Projetcs:
Category A: Engineering & Technology, Computer Sciences and Information Technology Category B: Physical Sciences and Agricultural Sciences Category C: Arts & Humanities, Business and Social Sciences Category D: Biological Sciences, Medical Sciences and Veterinary Sciences
Total 296 teams participated in all the above mentioned four categories from around 60 universities all across Pakistan. Ms. Kiran Zafar competed with 68 teams in Category-C and made her way to the top.
